Sam Hayes is a photographer and director working in Miami and New York. Raised in the San Francisco suburbs of Marin County, Sam launched his career assisting filmmaker Harmony Korine, capturing intimate moments in Miami, both in the studio and on film sets. This unique convergence of film, photography, real life and documentary storytelling shaped his distinctive perspective.
Sam works commercially for leading magazines and high-profile fashion and music clients including Pharrell Williams, Rolling Stone, GQ, The Wall Street Journal, Kaleidoscope Magazine, and many others.
Alongside partners Monty Thomas , and Lara Coppola-Estefan, he co-leads the production collective SUBTROPIC working with clients like Puma, Nike, Steve Madden, Merrell, Walmart and others. Currently, Sam is directing a true crime documentary, set in Miami and Panama, further solidifying his role as a dynamic voice in the industry.
His first collection of photography “Agent Orange” will be published in October 2024 and shown at Wynwood Projects in Miami, FL.
